Founded in 1979, the Alliance helps protect the rights of elderly and disabled persons who live in long term care settings and those who receive licensed health care or hospice services in the home.

“Our mission is to improve the quality of life and health care of residents of long term care facilities, assisted living facilities, and those who receive licensed health care or hospice in the home.”

As the Rhode Island Ombudsman for Long Term Care, our staff and volunteers advocate for those who have been victims of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation.

The Alliance is an independent, nonprofit organization supported by
federal funding and state grants through the Rhode Island legislature
and Department of Elderly Affairs along with philanthropic giving
through The Fund and private donations
